Cowgirl Trail
COWGIRL TRAIL is Book 5 in the Texas Trails series.
Maggie Porter returns home to her father’s ranch to find him ill and his cowboys on the verge of calling a strike. Alex Bright was a young cowboy when she left home, but he’s the foreman now. What has happened to put him at odds with her father? Will he really take sides with the men, against the owner of the ranch? Maggie can’t let him know she loves him—not if he’s her adversary now.
When the whole outfit walks off the job during the spring roundup, Maggie must take desperate measures. She calls on her friends to put on their split skirts and take to the trail with her.
After the roundup, the impasse with the men continues, and the ladies set out to drive the cattle to the stockyards in Fort Worth. But what are the men up to? Seems some of them will do anything to keep the cowgirl crew from succeeding. Is Alex in on the annoying pranks? Maggie’s limits are tested when someone sabotages the herd.

Captive Trail
CAPTIVE TRAIL is Book 2 in Moody Publishers’ new Texas Trails series. This series of six books will be written by authors Susan Page Davis, Darlene Franklin, and Vickie McDonough. Book 1, by Darlene, is titled Lone Star Trail, and will release in August, 2011. Susan’s Captive Trail comes out in September, and Vickie’s The Long Trail Home in October. In the spring of 2012, look for Darlene’s A Ranger’s Trail, Susan’s Cowgirl Trail, and Vickie’s End of the Trail.
In Captive Trail, Taabe Waipu has run away from her Comanche village and is fleeing south in Texas on a horse she stole from a dowry left outside her family’s teepee. The horse has an accident and she is left on foot, injured and exhausted. She staggers onto a road near Fort Chadbourne and collapses.
On one of the first runs through Texas, Butterfield Overland Mail Company driver Ned Bright carries two Ursuline nuns returning to their mission station. They come across a woman who is nearly dead from exposure and dehydration and take her to the mission.
With some detective work, Ned discovers Taabe Waipu’s identity. He plans to unite her with her family, but the Comanche have other ideas, and the two end up defending the mission station. Through Taabe and Ned we learn the true meaning of healing and restoration amid seemingly powerless situations.

The Lady's Maid, Book 1 of Prairie Dreams
Lady Ann Stone has come to the States to track down her elusive uncle so that he can claim his new title as the Earl of Stoneford. She's accompanied by her faithful chaperone, Elise, on hand to keep her mistress out of harm's way — and perhaps — to reconnect with the man she loved from afar. But the dusty prairie is no place for finery and the women have to prove themselves sturdy enough for the journey. They relinquish their gowns and set about securing supplies, but will their efforts be met with anything but skepticism by their fellow travelers?
Especially, Elise wonders, the rough yet fascinating scout, Eb Bentley.
Confronted with the difficulties of outdoor living and plagued by a mysterious and sinister man, Anne and Elise nonetheless make their way, turning the opinions of others in their favor. But will Elise be so intent on finding her former love that she misses the signs of blossoming admiration happening right in front of her?
In Romantic Times Book Reviews, October 2011 issue, reviewer Patsy Glans says:
"Davis hits a grand slam with her new historical romance series, Prairie Dreams, which has romance and mystery, with some thrills thrown in. The characters are well-rounded and the hero has grit and determination."

Reviews:
Just in time for the Holiday season, Barbour's collection of Christmas novellas made an enchanting romantic escape. Three mail-order brides head west to seek new lives and hope for love as they meet their matches through Mrs. Mayberry's Matrimonial Society for Christians of Moral Character. As a delightful conclusion, the fourth novella involves Mrs. Mayberry herself.
I had the pleasure of reading my first Susan Page Davis story, and from the first lines, Mrs. Amelia Mayberry won me over. It takes a writer of refinement and grace to depict a character with those attributes, and Amelia was all of that and full of warm genuineness, too. Facing retirement from her matchmaking business, Amelia has one last loose string to tie--her late husband's best friend Lennox Bailey. She had failed in her prior attempt to find Lennox a suitable wife, but with God's help, she is determined to succeed this time. Will the matchmaker find the love she has sown out to so many other happy couples?
These engaging stories are sure to brighten many Christmas seasons with hope, love and a happily ever after.

A murder in Fergus, Idaho, has the town’s women scared. But the men don’t seem able to stop the rash of thefts, assaults, and vandalism that follow. Half a dozen women band together to arm themselves against trouble. The gunsmith's plain sister, the emporium's owner, a couple of rancher's wives and saloon girls take their shooting lessons seriously. The men are skeptical at first and slightly amused. The new minister's wife shocks the town by joining the club, and other women follow her lead. When they show no sign of letting up on their drill, the men beg the sheriff to disband the club and put their women back where they belong. Those are fighting words to the ladies.
